Digitally print on garments without pretreating.

Printed with SingleJet Opaque™ Heat Transfer Paper from RhinoTech

Printed with SingleJet™ Heat Transfer Paper from RhinoTech

This just in from RhinoTech with regard to a question on whether or not cotton garments needed to be pretreated before digitally heat transferring a design using SingleJet™ Heat Transfer Paper (for use with inkjet printers, especially the recommended Epson 1430).

The answer is, no, PRETREATING IS NOT REQUIRED before transferring a design (unlike when using a DTG system). Using SingleJet II™ (the newest generation) offers an easy process resulting in designs with bright color when printed on white and light color fabrics. You can also print a photo, flat color design text, block graphics or spot colors. Use SingleJet Opaque™ when transferring images to DARK garments and fabric. Color and white will be vivid. Add textile metallic foil and rhinestones so that apparel will have added bling appeal for the customer and increased value for the business owner.

• How to print on hard surfaces such as metal, glass, acrylic, plastic, wood and ceramic using SinglePrint™ heat transfer paper for laser printers.
• An overview of SingleJet™ heat transfer paper for use with inkjet printers.
• The heat-transfer media, printers/toners and heat-press equipment used.
• Cost considerations of producing decorated apparel digitally versus direct-to-garment and manual textile printing.
• Tips on how to choose between laser and inkjet systems, determining space needs and other considerations for adding digital heat transfer technology to an existing printing business or for a start-up operation.

In doing so, he explains, “creativity and innovation are enhanced, helping business to thrive and survive”. He encourages all in our industry and those entering it to venture out and investigate possible opportunities to the fullest within the realm of the “new normal” in printing. This involves either merging digital printing technology into traditional printing/embroidery, art studio businesses etc. and/or when starting-up as a stand-alone.

Special Effects on Heat Transfer Images for DARK Apparel powered by RhinoTech.

Textile metallic foil and rhinestones are bling factors. Adding one or both to a black, indigo, red, Auburgine, orange and/or white T-shirt, dress or other apparel will provide the necessary appeal and interest to sell, sell, sell. IMG_0699But…to get to that point, it’s important to begin with a series of printers, toners and weedless heat transfer paper that will let you generate these special effects. And, the system to do the trick is the RT SunAngel DARK series of printers featuring brilliant fluorescent colors and white toner and vivid CMYK colors that can be directly transferred to black, dark and light colored apparel. Again, the addition of Textile Metallic Foil and/or Rhinestones helps to create even more powerful special effects.

The RT SunAngel systems are especially significant today with the limitless appeal of black and white apparel and/or stunning, multi-colored t-shirts. These fashion statements are especially on-trend (and unisex) when wearing bold, black and white graphics and color-blocked apparel with a bit of brilliance under a blazer or with distressed jeans. They are easy to design/print because the RT SunAngel series affords a way to generate intense color and white effects for customers who desire one or 200 pieces.RT SunAngel Dri-Fit 2

This is all you need!

To print on DARK apparel, the RT SunAngel DARK series includes the 33SC printer with CMYK toners, the RT 33WB with white toner, the RT 33DC with brilliant DayBold Fluorescent color and the RT 33DW with DayBold Fluorescent White and RTSunAngel DARK heat transfer paper that is weedless. To print on white and light colored apparel, the system includes the RT 33SC printer with CMYK toners, the RT 33DC with Fluorescent colors and weedless, SingleStep™ heat transfer paper. Apparel that is 100% cotton, a 50/50 blends and/or Polyester can be used with either system.

Multi-Purpose Printers!

SinglePrint™ heat transfer paper from RhinoTech can also be used with the RT SunAngel series of printers. Produce vivid images that transfer to hard surfaces such as metal, ceramic, wood, plastic and glass.IMG_0539

Another option to print on DARK garments and fabrics from RhinoTech.

In the world of all forms printing (screen, digital and graphics), the search for a way to print on black, indigo, red, aubergine and other dark apparel and fabrics is on-going.  And, if found, the resulting image from this almost-perfect product should have durability through the virtue of the product, itself, and via prime washability characteristics. The following educational video is from RhinoTech (youtube.com/rhinotechcompany) featuring Jet Opaque Inkjet Heat Transfer Paper. The characteristics you seek have been found!

A Simple, Easy way to Transfer to Black.

This video is a great example of how a new guy to the industry not only learns the digital printing process and a few creative techniques, but then is able to share it to the world in a matter of a few hours due to the ease of use of the heat transfer paper and equipment. As you view the video, be aware that this inkjet transfer process can also be used with other substrates such as T-shirts, hoodies, golf towels, pillow cases, bags, hats, mouse pads and more. Another great aspect of the paper is that it offers a much softer hand, allowing for photo-quality transfers with a white base. Additionally, Jet Opaque heat transfer paper has a distinctive white coating that is actually peeled back and laid down onto the shirt for printing.

These are the steps to printing with Jet Opaque:

Trim off any excess white background (or, as you’ll see with the second that shirt that is going to be printed, add some extra something with a ripped edge – be wholly creative).

Prepress shirt to remove moisture and wrinkles @ 350F (adjustable temperature control, too)

Peel design

Place design on shirt

Immediately cover print with parchment paper and heat press for 30 seconds (using adjustable timer)

Slide t-shirt off press and lay flat until paper is cool to the touch

Remove parchment paper –  the colors will POP!

For best washing results, turn shirt inside out.

Jet Opaque is available in two sizes: 8.5” x 11” and 11” x 17” and can be found HERE and HERE.
