This short video is a review of the latest, high performing DIGITAL heat transfer papers from RhinoTech. In fact, they also represent the most current laser and inkjet transfer papers in the industry that can be used successfully to transfer images to DARK garments and fabrics. And, to offer the most vibrant of whites (no gray factor).
Though RhinoTech originally produced this big review during Halloween 2014, the information remains timely. Enjoy and thanks for reading/viewing.
1. The first set of t-shirts have been printed with SingleJet heat transfer paper used with an inkjet printer.
As you can see, the colors on the white Tuxedo and Yoga T-shirts are chillingly vivid! Use this paper to transfer designs to pastel, light gray and all white/light color apparel and fabrics.
The Black Tuxedo shirt was digitally printed with SingleJet Opaque. It works alarmingly well to transfer images to the DARKEST OF DARK garments and fabrics. The white that snaps off the shirt is daunting compared to most whites that appear grayed out.
2. The next set of shirts was printed with SingleStep that is designed to transfer to light/white color garments. Notice how the flower design on the pink t-shirt just oozes color. The secret is in the toner; the RT SunAngel DayBold Fluorescent toners used with the RT SunAngel printer.
The white t- shirt with the flower design was printed w/SingleStep and traditional CMYK colors. Notice how regular CMYK colors are scarily dazzlingly!
The black T-shirt, printed with RT SunAngel DARK heat transfer paper for DARK apparel, offers the brightest of white (no graying) that snaps off the shirt.
3. The final series of t-shirts was printed with RT SunAngel DARK heat transfer paper. It’s spooky how excited Greg is about this paper!
The BLACK Anarchy T-shirt features pulsating brilliant blue, white and blood red colors and screams washability.
The CMYK colors printed on the next DARK T-Shirt also bursts with color. It’s simple to apply rhinestones and textile metallic foil right on top of the design for added value.
The RhinoTech logo on the final DARK t-shirt was printed using RT SunAngel DayBold Fluorescent toner. Textile Metallic Foil was added; the look is stunning!

We are in the heart of reunion t-shirt printing season. And, that’s fortunate for all of us in the digital, screen and graphic printing businesses who will produce short or long-run t-shirt projects for family, high school or other gatherings in the next several months. Whether you operate from a part-time garage-based printing business, a store-front location, an embroidery + digital printing shop, a silk screen printing commercial enterprise or digital printing company – everyone reaps the benefits. And, the graphic designers are pretty excited to unleash extreme, comic reunion designs and slogans on the masses.
We are the people our mom warned us about.
In their blog, bluecotton.com offers some pretty F.U.N.N.Y. reunion slogans. Click HERE to read their suggestions for some good one-liners. And, then there are these from Zazzle.com. Both companies offer a place to start when needing shirts with comic slogans. And, one tip. With children and tweens in the mix, remember to check on the slogan rating before authorizing the printing order.
Reunion Survivor (courtesy of gatheredagain.com)
The survivors and ‘thrivers’ of reunion-land are all the t-shirt printers and their behind the scenes support; companies like RhinoTech who manufacture and distribute digital, screen and graphics equipment including digital heat transfer papers and printers and screen cleaning products, washout booths, filtration systems and more. Because of eco-friendly cleaning products, for example, screen frames are cleaned quickly and fully for reuse to enable the printers to continue to produce millions of reunion t-shirts on a nation-wide basis.
Those that also thrive and are winners are all the customers who now have an idea of how to get their shirts printed with some unconventional reunion slogans and/or how and where to have their own creative one-liners come to life on a t-shirt. To everyone involved in reunion season, keep on laughing!
Much appreciation is extended for taking the time to read this news.

No Woo-Woo. It’s just New Age Digital Printing with the RT SunAngel DARK Series and other Fine Systems.
This workshop is the place where Greg Markus will help to demystify the art of decorating apparel and other products through digitally printed, heat-applied graphics using the latest heat-transfer papers, toners and equipment. Attendees who want to start a business, as well as, those in established screen/graphics printing and embroidery businesses will learn how to 1) transition a digital printing specialty into an established business space; 2) learn how to improve profitability and efficiency with digital transfer systems without a huge capital investment.
The techniques discussed will be applicable for sign companies, art studios, screen, graphics and digital printers, embroiderers, promotional products distributors, those mulling over the start-up needs of a digital printing business. The session will cover:
• Step-by-step instruction on how-to digitally print on light and DARK apparel and fabrics with the RT SunAngel DARK series of heat transfer paper, printers and toners that include fluorescent colors + white and traditional CMYK toners + white.
• How to print images using weedless, SingleStep™ heat transfer laser paper for light color apparel.
• Methods for printing textile metallic foil and rhinestones on light and dark fabrics,
• How to print on hard surfaces such as metal, glass, acrylic, plastic, wood and ceramic using SinglePrint™ heat transfer paper for laser printers.
• An overview of SingleJet™ heat transfer paper for use with inkjet printers.
• The heat-transfer media, printers/toners and heat-press equipment used.
• Cost considerations of producing decorated apparel digitally versus direct-to-garment and manual textile printing.
• Tips on how to choose between laser and inkjet systems, determining space needs and other considerations for adding digital heat transfer technology to an existing printing business or for a start-up operation.
• Enable attendees to hold and feel the texture of the printed garment.
After the workshop, participants will be invited to Booth 480 to watch live action, digital printing demos.
Throughout his 35+ year career in our industry, Greg Markus has fully embraced change as the landscape of screen, graphics and digital printing has evolved. In doing so, he explains, “creativity and innovation are enhanced, helping business to thrive and survive”. He encourages all in our industry and those entering it to venture out and investigate possible opportunities to the fullest within the realm of the “new normal” in printing. This involves either merging digital printing technology into traditional printing/embroidery, art studio businesses etc. and/or when starting-up as a stand-alone.
Gregory Markus is the president and owner of RhinoTech, based in St. Paul, MN. Since the company’s inception 19 years ago, Greg, along with his partner, Todd Michaels, V.P./Operations, has charted the growth of RhinoTech into a worldwide manufacturer/distributor of screen, digital and graphics equipment and papers; screen frame GLUE/adhesives, eco-friendly screen cleaning chemicals and equipment, washout booths that help save on water resources, triple-action filtration systems, screen cleaning and recirculating systems, commercial pressure washers, supplies and more.

RhinoTech has rolled out a new digital printing system that has been demo-d via DAX shows in Chicago, Minneapolis and Kansas City. RhinoTech has promised information as soon as it becomes available.
PRINT ON BLACK, NAVY, RED, ORANGE – ALL DARK APPAREL.
In the meantime, here is an extension of their printing instructions found at RT SunAngel DARK video on how to add rhinestone bling to a DARK t-shirt printed with the RT SunAngel DARK series.
The shirt on the right was originally printed with RT SunAngel DARK heat transfer paper, printer & fluorescent color + white toners. Rhinestones were added to it by placing a sheet of random patterned rhinestones on top of the design, placing a piece of parchment paper on top of that…heat pressing it using LIGHT pressure at 300 degrees F for 30 seconds. When done, the parchment was removed and, using a soft cloth, the rhinestone sheet was rubbed thoroughly. When cooled, the carrier sheet was peeled off ( RhinoTech would like to acknowledge USA Rhinestones for use of the rhinestone sheet).
IMPROVE YOUR COMPANY’S BOTTOM LINE PROFIT GOALS.
By adding rhinestones, you have added more dimension and interest in your product. The product value has just increased, as well, enabling higher pricing and profit margins for you.
We hope you’ve enjoyed this brief, informative article in the digital printing realm. Again, thanks for subscribing and learning.
